Centrally located in the mountains of Western Massachusetts, there are activities for every season from every Shire Home property. Vast and varied hiking trails abound, a plethora of vistas and stunning waterfalls. Our properties are centrally located between Butternut Ski Hill and Bousquet Ski Mountain, as well as a 30 minute drive to Jiminy Peak. Families and groups will love the outdoor adventure ropes course at Ramblewild, horseback riding, cycling, fishing, boating, and quintessential New England apple picking on local farms.
Culture
The Berkshires is home to world renowned museums and performing arts venues, many within a 5-15 minute drive of your stay. Tanglewood, multiple theatre festivals, Jacobs Pillow Dance Festival, Mass Moca, Barrington Stage and a multitude of museums, are just some of the places to explore. There are stunning historic homes open to the public, as well as independent movie theatres, and cultural festivals throughout the year.
